TORRE (The Tower) A watchtower from the 13th century recalls the
violent incursions of Morisco pirates along these coasts. At the foot of the mountain there is a treadmill dating back to Arab time.
Getting Here
Almeria and Malaga airports are 1 hour and
1.5 hours away respectively, whilst Granada airport is about 1 hour away.
A hire car is essential if you wish to explore the area. There are no hire car
companies or taxis locally, so it is best to book a car from the airport.Airport
pick ups and drop offs can be arranged if required
Casa Torre in Front On Right
The little house sits just below my house on the mountain. There is a
small/steep concrete road that leads up to the access area then its a
walk up to the house. The resort of La Mamola sits a couple of minutes
down the mountain. I walk down the mountain to the village quite often,
but let me warn you, its a steep climb up and even though I am more used
to it, I still stop half way to admire the views (actually to catch my
breath). A good meal and a couple of glasses of wine and you wont notice
it.

view from terrace outside Casa Torre
Views
The views from the little house are quite spectacular. You look out to
Mountains and the Mediterranean. Some days you will even spot the Dolphins going by.
Living/Dining Area
The motorway from Barcelona to Portugal has a gap in this area at the
moment. The motorway stops just after a place called Adra if you are
coming from Almeria Airport and just after Nerja if you are coming from
Malaga Airport. Although not motorway the road is very good, its the
N340/E15 and runs right along the bottom of the mountain so it is not
difficult to spot the house from the Coastal Road. Check out my Getting
to La Mamola page for information and map
Living Room
Living Area - The living area has a TV Spanish and English Sateliteand a DVD player, which will also play music CD's. Some DVD's can be

ACCESS TO THE HOUSE
As this house is situated up a mountain it is not suitable for anyone who has physical problems. The parking used to be fine but my English neighbour has gone out of his way to make access and parking very difficult for me, my Family, my friends and my Visitors. People who have visited here have seen for themselves the unreasonable behavior of my neighbour. There is a place to park and then you go through a gate and its a short walk up to the house. It is well worth it as the house boasts stunning clear views of The mediteranean from the 3 large windows of the Living/Dining area. Please make your decision based on the information above. As you can see by the testimonials below every visitor has enjoyed there stay here.
Parking right by the Access Gate
Some people park on the bend in the road which is owned by a friend. There are very few cars come up here as it only leads to The Tower.
